PDA Kobo
Develops 32 MBytes RAM Upgrade Service for Palm OS Machines
KURASHIKI CITY,
Japan, August 9, 2002 - PDA Kobo ( http://www.pdakobo.com/e/
) announced development of a 32 MB upgrade service for Palm OS machines.
There are some companies in the world that provide services to upgrade the
main memory of Palm OS machines to 16 MB. Yet as the supported memory area
of Palm OS is only up to a maximum of 16 MB, there were no companies that
could upgrade it to 32 MB.
However, PDA
Kobo has made 32 MB upgrades possible by developing an original driver
(Enhanced RAM Disk Driver: ERDD). The upgrade involves replacing the RAM
chip and using PDA Kobo's ERDD (total memory is from 16 MB of free area in
the main memory combined with an additional 16 MB of extra RAM disk through
utilizing an SD Card or Memory Stick in the enhanced memory area).

beginning, we will start to provide services through a reconditioned machine
shop, a part of our online PDA shop (PDA Kobo http://www.pdakobo.com). Soon
thereafter, we will start to provide 32 MB memory upgrade services for
outside PDAs. And for the convenience of Palm users all over the world, we
are planning partnerships with memory upgrade centers in their areas with
PDA Kobo providing such partners with this original driver", says
